Citation text line | 29 CFR 1910.95(c)(1): A continuing, effective hearing conservation program as described in 29 CFR 1910.95(c) through (n) was not instituted when employee noise exposures equaled or exceeded an 8 hour time-weighted average sound level (TWA) of 85 dBA:a) Jaguar Shop, on or about 1/17/19: An employee working as a Hand Worker on the Machine SS150 was exposed to continuous noise at a level of 85.9% of the dose of the OSHA permissible exposure limit. The equivalent dBA for the 85.9% dose is approximately 88.9 dBA calculated as the 8 hour time weighted sound pressure level. The sampling was conducted on 1/17/19 for 398 minutes. Exposure calculations include a zero increment for the 82 minutes not sampled. Employee was wearing ear plugs. b) Jaguar Shop, on or about 1/17/19: An employee working as a Sawyer on the Wilson Saw was exposed to continuous noise at a level of 70.8% of the dose of the OSHA permissible exposure limit. The equivalent dBA for the 70.8% dose is approximately 87.51 dBA calculated as the 8 hour time weighted sound pressure level. The sampling was conducted on 1/17/19 for 397 minutes. Exposure calculations include a zero increment for the 83 minutes not sampled. Employee was wearing not wearing hearing protection. c) Jaguar Shop, on or about 1/17/19: An employee working as a Sawyer on the Jaguar Saw was exposed to continuous noise at a level of 91.7% of the dose of the OSHA permissible exposure limit. The equivalent dBA for the 91.7% dose is approximately 89.37 dBA calculated as the 8 hour time weighted sound pressure level. The sampling was conducted on 1/17/19 for 397 minutes. Exposure calculations include a zero increment for the 83 minutes not sampled. Employee was wearing ear plugs. |
