In no case shall the extension be such that ladder deflection under a load would, by itself, cause the ladder to slip off its support. location: rear of house on or about: 2/1/13 a) Employees were using a 40' Werner portable metal extension ladder to access the roof. The ladder extended only 2 ft. above the upper landing on the roof. NOTE: Because abatement of this violation is already documented in the inspection casefile, the employer need not submit certification or documentation of abatement for this violation as normally required by 29 CFR 1903.19. |

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): "Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure.
