29 CFR 1910.134(c)(1): A written respiratory protection program that included the provisions in 29 CFR 1910.134(c)(1)(i) - (ix) with worksite specific procedures was not established and implemented for required respirator use: (a) Pesce Ltd. 21 Hall St. Brooklyn, NY 11205. Employees creating the artist's designs are exposed to chemical hazards, including but not limited to, Toluene-2,6-Diisocyanate, contained in the rubber mold compound Smooth-On PMC-746. Employees were provided with half face tight fitting respirators for use during such operations. The employer did not develop, or implement a written respiratory protection program. The condition was noted at or around 06/09/16. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1,000.00 AS PER 29 CFR 1903.19. |

The health effects of occupational exposure to isocyanates include occupational asthma, irritation of the skin, and mucous membranes (eyes, nose and throat), hypersensitivity pneumonitis, and chest tightness.
