Complaint What Happened CIT Bank, NA, closed my account on XX/XX/2022 for no reason given with no warning and for no issue I can discern. I had a cash balance in this money market account of {$110000.00} ( rounded ) and they paid out by check the full balance plus {$63.00} ( rounded ) for the XX/XX/2022 accrued interest ( total of {$110000.00} ( rounded ) ). They sent me 2 letters saying I had to pay back the {$63.00} ( rounded ) interest without providing me with final statements or any additional details as to why and at the time I had no knowledge the {$62.00} they were asking for was because they believed they didn't have to pay me interest. The 2nd letter arrived on XX/XX/2022, AFTER this unpaid claim was filed with XXXX. I called XXXX both times I received a letter immediately and asked them how to pay the reported but unexplained {$63.00} ( rounded ) and in both cases ( plus a 3rd additional call ) I was told to ignore the letter it was sent in error and there was no missing balance on my account so any check I submitted would not be credited against my account. The 2nd call was routed to the fraud department which informed me there was no issue and I shouldn't worry. Please remove this erroneous and unfair mark. I have worked hard and saved plenty of money and {$62.00} ( rounded ) is not a meaningful amount to me, I will happily pay it off to remove the issue which is now affecting my XXXX rating- albeit, it's an unfair charge which XXXX is leveling to me and makes no sense since they closed my account and sent me a check for all the funds in the account. The entire issue caused me missed work, caused me fees for having insufficient funds at another financial firm on time ( I paid those fees because I don't have issue with covering fees I owe ).

Complaint What Happened I applied online for a XXXX XXXX Account with CIT Bank. Within minutes of submitting my application, a pop up appeared that stated Thank you for your recent application for a CIT Bank account. We regret to inform you that after a thorough review of your application, we have elected not to open a bank account for you at this time. Thank you for considering CIT Bank. I called the bank seeking more information about why my application was denied. The first person, XXXX, told me that it was because my VPN was on and they could not validate my address. I checked and my VPN was not on. I also called XXXX and they remoted into my computer and verified that the VPN was off. I called again, and spoke to XXXX. XXXX said CIT bank could not tell me why my account was denied, and read me a catch-all disclosure statement that didnt reveal why the application was denied. I asked to speak to a supervisor ( XXXX ). XXXX indicated that they could not give me any further information on why the account application was denied. She said my only recourse was to write the bank a letter of complaint. I received no email correspondence indicating a reason either. I understand the FCRA requires the bank to provide me with a specific reason, but they refused.

Complaint What Happened On XX/XX/XXXX, I paid {$76000.00} to XXXX XXXX XXXX to pay off my partner 's loan with them. This was a gift. The withdrawal was reflected in my bank statement with Silicon Valley Bank ( SVB ). My partner received an email from XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, saying that her loan was paid off. On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX contacted her that she now owes {$76000.00} due to a payment reversal ordered by SVB, due to " customer advised not authorized ''. I did not authorize such a reversal. In fact, I closed my account with SVB on XX/XX/XXXX. Per my partner, XXXX reports that the payment reversal was ordered by SVB on XX/XX/XXXX ; I was no longer a customer of SVB at that point. This payment reversal happened 10 months after the payment was completed. When I contacted SVB on XX/XX/XXXX to straighten this out, they said they will investigate it and let me know after 10 business days. On XX/XX/XXXX, SVB told me that they did not have a credit for {$76000.00} in my ( closed ) account. They, however, refused to confirm whether they ordered the payment reversal. We do not know where the XXXX is. XXXX is insisting that my partner pay the loan amount ( with accruing interest ) and they decreased her credit score by placing this loan on her credit. XXXX refuses to place an administrative forbearance on the loan or reverse the credit score/report while the investigation is ongoing. Current status is investigation is still on going.

Complaint What Happened XXXX XXXX XXXX, an attorney run collection mill, claims I owe a credit card debt. I don't recall any such debt, or if there was one it was incurred over 20 years ago. I have no original paperwork in my possession concerning this matter. They have not certified any documentation concerning the debt in accordance with its recent settlement with the CFPB.

Complaint What Happened Applied to open a new Savings Connect account with CIT bank on XX/XX/23. My application was declined within a day. My credit score is excellent. I have a steady income, full time job that pays well etc. I am not used to getting my applications declined. I tried to get them provide an explanation, but was not successful. Complaint What Happened In XX/XX/2021, I received a XXXX friend request from a XXXX XXXX XXXX, which has turned out to be a fake profile. This person prompted me to switch to XXXX XXXX to send messages back and forth, saying he loved me and wanted to marry me. He eventually asked for my bank account information and ordered checks in my name/address from an account he claimed was his at XXXX XXXX. Recently, he asked me to fill out one of those checks payable to myself in the amount of {$20000.00} and deposit it into my personal account at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. Then told me I needed to transfer {$5000.00} to an account at 1st Citizen 's Bank in the name of XXXX XXXX ( address XXXX XXXX XXXX ; XXXX, NC XXXX ) in order to pay off a lien on a property in Tennessee. On XX/XX/XXXX, I discovered that XXXX XXXX had returned the funds of the {$20000.00} check I wrote, because XXXX XXXX discovered the fraud. This has left my account at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in the negative by {$5100.00}. I believed this man to be who he said he was and trusted him, but have since discovered numerous fake profiles on social media sites using this identity of a high ranking XXXX official. I have contacted all 3 banks involved to report the fraudulent activity, but 1st Citizen 's Bank did not give any indication that they could get the transfer stopped and return the money to my XXXX XXXX Account.
