THE PLACE FOR LEARNING INTENDS TO PROVIDE HANDS-ON FIELD EXPLORATION AND DATA COLLECTION PROGRAMS IN BOTH ENGLISH AND SPANISH TO CREATE AN ACCESSIBLE BI-LINGUAL COMMUNITY RESOURCE AND TEACHING TOOL THAT WILL CREATE A JOB PIPELINE FOR PARTICIPANTS. ACTIVITIES:THE ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED INCLUDES WATER QUALITY TESTING FOR THE PRESENCE OF CYANOBACTERIA AND WATER QUALITY, AIR QUALITY MONITORING FOR PM 2.5, CONDUCTING ENVIRONMENTAL TOURS IN THE COMMUNITY EDUCATING THE STUDENTS AND COMMUNITY RESIDENTS ON WATER QUALITY ISSUES AND HEALTH EFFECTS, AND SEARCH FOR POTENTIAL AQUATIC INVASIVE SPECIES. ALSO, THE RECIPIENT WILL USE EDUCATION AND TRAINING TO INCREASE AWARENESS OF HOW CRITICAL ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES IMPACT THE HEALTH OF RESIDENTS AND THE LOCAL ECOSYSTEMS.SUBRECIPIENT:NO SUBAWARDS ARE INCLUDED IN THIS ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT.OUTCOMES:EXPECTED OUTCOMES AND OUTPUTS ARE TO INCREASE COMMUNITY AWARENESS OF THE WATER AND AIR QUALITY ISSUES AND THEIR POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS, DEVELOP EDUCATIONAL CONTENT FOR STUDENTS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS FOR BOTH IN-PERSON AND ONLINE.
