29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: a) Worksite, 167 Green Street, Kingston, New York : On or about January 19 2023, employees were using an extension ladder to access a roof, approximately 12 feet above the ground. The side rails of the ladder extended approximately 12 inches above the landing zone. O'Brien Construction, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1595325 citation number 1, item number 7 and was affirmed as a final order on November 28, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 71 Pine Grove Ave, Kingston New York. |
