In XX/XX/XXXX I was served with paperwork by XXXX XXXX with a petition for judgement against me for a medical bill from XXXX XXXX XXXX I never received. I immediately emailed XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX regarding a payment plan to avoid a judgement being placed. I had never received the bill, and wanted to make sure it got taken care of. On XX/XX/XXXX, she offered an agreement and terms if paid by XX/XX/XXXX. I agreed via email XX/XX/XXXX to a payment plan & paid in XXXX, check was cashed on XX/XX/XXXX. I followed up in XXXX as I had not gotten paperwork to withdraw the Judgement petition. I never got an answer. I followed up twice more to confirm that the petition was withdrawn, and the plan was in place for my payment arrangement. The XXXX did not answer emails or phone calls. On XX/XX/XXXX I received in the mail that the judgement was granted, though the XXXX took my money, agreed to a payment plan on the debt and never responded. On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX from XXXX XXXX firm called to let me know the judgement was granted because I did not sign a waiver, that I never received. I asked why no one followed up with me to confirm it needed to be signed before my money was taken, and she confirmed that their job is to take any money owed on the debt. I did not get the paperwork needed. This is predatory behavior when I as a consumer did the right thing and tried to take care of this debt.

Hello..on Monday XXXX XXXX i had recieved a Medical Bill from Overton, Russell , Doerr and Donovon LLP located at XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and bill stated i owed {$1000.00} and i had failed to pay or failed to make arrangements for payment. It is to my understanding a debt. Collector must give a debtor the right to dispute prove the bill is valid which i never had the chance from this collection Agency i just recieved a bill i owed. I called them today and when i questioned them on why i got this bill and not a right to dispute first. of course i got the answer '' we did send you a notice, its in our computer. '' i argued with them over it replying i never got any notice otherwise if i did i would of called or responded by certified mail right away.I had dealt with a collector before and i know its important once a notice is recieved is to respond quickly as you can.I did research this Company and they have numerous complaints on them. Good evening I have a issue so I paid a debt through the debt collection which is Overton Russell Doerr and Donovan agency back on XX/XX/2019 and its still showing on my collection agency I was under expression that they had 90 days to report a paid balance to a collection agency and here it is XX/XX/XXXX and I go to the bank to get a loan possibly for a home mortgage and they said they are still on their which is way past 90 days now so i have my statements from when i paid i also called and her exact words we received payment but never reported it so we will now and it will take about 60-90 days i find it very upsetting that i have to wait another 90 days. Which puts a hold on me purchasing a home which also a inconvenience due to my wife is set to have a child in XXXX and we are living with her mother.

A decision was rendered by the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX wherein the proposed decision was a finding had been made that the bill for services submitted by XXXX was done so too late and as a result both myself individually and the insurance carrier was found NOT to be financially responsible. A thirty-day period was provided in which to object to the decision and no objection was filed by XXXX. As a result the decision was filed in XX/XX/XXXX.
This bill for XXXX has been continuously reported every month to the credit bureaus by XXXX through their collection agent XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX as an open collection account. In fact, during the specific time frame in which the proposed decision and the final decision was filed, the collection agent XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX each time updated their reporting again reporting the collection was accurate.
Despite several calls to the company, sending them copies of the decision, they have refused to cease reporting it as a collection. In fact, during my most recent conversation with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, I was informed by " XXXX '' after he spoke with his supervisor that even with knowledge of the decision, that neither myself or XXXX XXXX was responsible, he advised they intended to continue to pursue repayment from XXXX and while doing so they would continue to report it as a collection account in my name, but would mark it as an " insurance hold '' internally.
XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX are knowingly and willfully reporting false and inaccurate information to the credit bureaus which is having a negative impact on my ability to both obtain credit and to obtain competitive interest rates, all while knowing a decision was rendered finding me not financially responsible.

11 years ago I had a life threatening medical issue for which I was hospitalized for over a week. I had no insurance at the time. I cashed in my XXXX IRA to pay the individual doctors, so now I have no retirement funds. I contacted the hospital and set up monthly payments and they agreed. About one year later they handed my debt over to this collection agency. At this time I sent a cease a desist letter to this agency, told them I was paying the hospital directly and they stopped communication. I continued making the payments for 10 years ( about {$5000.00} dollars ). This month I received a notice of a lein placed on my property with no notice of hearing. This agency is now making daily calls to my professional office. Please make it stop.

Please be advised that the options above do not describe the issue at hand. We are trying to clear title for property at XXXX XXXX XXXX , XXXX NY XXXX . XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX holds a lien on the property that we would like to negotiate a settlement for and obtain a release of lien. We have written to their attorney, Overton , Russell , Doerr and Donovan , LLP and the letter was sent on XXXX . They have not responded. Today I called their office to confirm that they have received the letter. The receptionist was being very difficult and would not give me any information. She kept stating that they could not give me any information on the account. I acknowledged that I understood that and wanted to speak to an attorney there to discuss. She would not pass me through to anyone, would not give me a fax number to resend my letter, and kept stating she would not help since I did not have the debtor 's authorization. I again acknowledged that we were not asking for any privacy or debtor info, and that debtor no longer owns the property and I have authorization by the new owner. She did not care and kept telling me they would not give me any information. She would not listen to what I was saying and would not pass me on to anyone else in the office to discuss the matter with. I am uploading our original request that described the issue in detail.

I XXXX XXXX hereby file this complaint against a medical debt collector that is not abiding to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau mandate and settlement with XXXX , XXXX and XXXX XXXX respectively. The attache d medical collections were instantly filed by Overton, Russell, Doerr & Donovan, a law firm located in the state of New York that specializes in medical debt collections. By this attached mandate, the medical debt collection process is supposed to operate as follows : 1 ) The consumer is to be billed by the medical collector, giving a 30-day time frame to pay the medical invoice directly, or to ensure that his/her medical insurance provider is to satisfy the claim in question. 2 ) If the claim is not satisfied by these criteria, the debt can be assigned to a medical debt collector.
3 ) The medical debt collector must submit a 180-day notice that if the medical debt ( s ) are not satisfied, either through medical insurance or directly from the consumer, then the medical debt collector has the right report any or all collections previously ordered paid. In the events of the aforementioned law center, none of the mentioned methods were used, and my credit was tarnished through the violations against me of the CFPB mandate and settlement with the major credit bureaus, but these collection violations are connected to my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. My understanding is that there are currently multiple complaints against the law center of Overton Russell Doerr & Donovan for a continuous illegal collection practice ( s ) against consumers without any consideration of the law. An additional complaint will be filed with the state of New York Office of Attorney General through my attorney in due course if the CFPB can not rectify this serious series of violations. My information and all aspects of previous collection postings with all pertinent credit reporting agencies must be purged immediately, and the CFPB must file an additional investigative process with the Federal Trade Commission to sanction the law center of Overton Russell Doerr & Donovan alo ng with a permanent injunction against same from this continuous abusive practice.

I contacted the CFPB about this debt before in case XXXX. The hospital is part of XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. The service date is shown on a bill but the bill shows a very different amount. I was able to speak XXXX XXXX XXXX billing office about the bill they sent me and they said that the amount they were showing as outstanding was different and they would investigate and send me a revised bill. That phone conversation happened on XXXX17. I am unsure how I can be working with the provider on something that has been sent to collections. I feel that some sort of clarification is needed. The charge may also be the result of identiy theft but I need to have a conversation with someone to figure that out.
The people at Overton will just repeat the amount they think I owe and that is not helpful

Case number : XXXX Related Case Number : XXXX Overton Lied to Federal Agents, considering the fact that Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection is a United States Government Agency, to lie to an employee either directly or via website, that is the same, in my opinion to lying directly to a federal agent.
Title 18, United States Code, Section 1001 makes it a crime to : 1 ) knowingly and willfully ; 2 ) make any materially false, fictitious or fraudulent statement or representation ; 3 ) in any matter within the jurisdiction of the executive, legislative or judicial branch of the United States. Your lie does not even have to be made directly to an employee of the national government as long as it is " within the jurisdiction '' of the ever expanding federal bureaucracy. Though the falsehood must be " material '' this requirement is met if the statement has the " natural tendency to influence or [ is ] capable of influencing, the decision of the decisionmaking body to which it is addressed. '' United States XXXX ( XXXX ). ( In other words, it is not necessary to show that your particular lie ever really influenced anyone. ) Although you must know that your statement is false at the time you make it in order to be guilty of this crime, you do not have to know that lying to the government is a crime or even that the matter you are lying about is " within the jurisdiction '' of a government agency. United States XXXX ( XXXX ). For example, if you lie to your employer on your time and attendance records and, unbeknownst to you, he submits your records, along with those of other employees, to the federal government pursuant to some regulatory duty, you could be criminally liable. Source : XXXX The actual lie was stating that my complaint was " baseless ''. Therefore, I respectfully suggest that the compliance officer should be arrested, and criminally charged. ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) Release the audio tapes to the consumerfinance.gov. It will show that i answered the phone, but I was not verified until long after the debt was disclosed, a violation, in my opinion to title 15 fair debt collection practices act. A possible civil tort.

I received a letter in XXXX from the lawyers office saying that I owed {$1300.00} I am immediately called them and asked if that was all that was owed they said yes I have made over {$700.00} in payments to this account yesterday I got a letter in the mail saying that with the same account number they now have a judgment against me for {$1400.00} when I called and asked how this could be they said they added {$800.00} in interest but I do n't understand how they can do this when the second amount is more than the first amount I need a lawyer that can help me they are financially harassing us I am afraid this is never going to stop with these people

I paid off final payment in 2004 and only 3 years ago started getting harassing phone calls and letters of garnishment from this company Overton, Russell, Doerr and Donovan, LLP.
I only save my important paperwork for 8 years as does most people.
They sent stuff to the XXXX District court and also on the paperwork are garnishee 's that have no idea what is going on and also I never had any loans with, not even associated with original school loans.

I have a high deductible insurance plan just like a lot of other people do. In XXXX of this year I was sent to XXXX hospital for a study ordered by my doctor. when I received the invoice it was over XXXX in which a was making regular monthly payments as I could. when I received the last invoice it was at a XXXX balance in which they stated they wanted it paid in full. I sent them a payment in which I could afford that week as I have been since XXXX they cashed the check and sent the balance of XXXX to collections. Now this is not the XXXX time I have had problems with XXXX hospital billing, they have sent me to collections for duplicate billings in which have been paid, their billing practices need to be looked into.

Contacted 'law offices ' and could not get proper balance when requested. Also having paid on this debt for over 1 year have never received quarterly accounting of the debt while the consumer makes payments.
