I am the XXXX of a mid-sized XXXX XXXX in XXXX NY. On XX/XX/18 was notified by a co-worker that XXXX XXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX needed me to call him about a collection and that it was very important that I call him back.
I returned the call to Delta and was asked numerous personal questions - which I refused to answer for fear of identity theft - and was then told that it was important that I cooperate because the issue was time sensitive and that it was going to be adjudicated.
I was finally placed with a supervisor, XXXX XXXX XXXX, who stated that this had to do with an educational loan. I graduated 25 years ago and we finally agreed that the debt was not mine. She stated my name was common - yet knowing that they felt comfortable calling my place of employment, causing personal embarrassment - rather than seeking to contact me via mail, or using my personal number.
In looking at this agency, ( EIN XXXX ) they have a long history of abusive practices.

I made a phone call to Delta Management Associates to inquire about the status of a loan rehabilitation application. The call was placed on XXXX XXXX at XXXX. While I was trying to obtain information, the Delta representative I was speaking to, a male with a southern accent, muffled the phone and started making jokes and laughing with a colleague. Based on the flow of the conversation, it can be safely assumed that he was making fun of the issues brought up during my call which constitutes abusive behavior and language. Abusive language does not need to limit itself to obscene language - it can also apply to tactics made to mock, diminish or otherwise ridicule a consumer. I felt ridiculed and his behavior was highly inappropriate. I requested to speak to another customer service representative and was transferred over to XXXX XXXX, who handled herself in a more professional fashion. This representative 's behavior was unacceptable and needs to be addressed promptly.

XXXX and Delta Management even sent a text to my cell phone from a XXXX ( whom I do not know ) of XXXX indicating that she and I are longtime lost friends and XXXX just happened to call her in an attempt to make contact.

XX/XX/2019 Called my employer XX/XX/2019 Called my employer XX/XX/2019 Called my mother Delta Management repeatedly call and harrass my family and employer asking about me, if I work there, how to contact me. They do not identify themselves by the company they work for they will just identify themselves by the name of the person servicing the call. Currently my wages are already being garnished by a student debt collector and now another one is after me? When will this stop? I have almost no money left to live on and they give almost no information. I didn't even take my loans out from this company, it's a servicer and they keep calling and asking my employer about me. I'm really worried that i am going to lose my job because of this. These debt collectors for my student loans are ruining my life. My loans have been in and out of default for years, I can't even crack the principal of the loan if I tried. I know I know they've sent paperwork to my employer but I'm not sure what to do about it ... I'm so scared that they are going to take EVEN MORE MONEY from me.

Delta Management Associates attempted to collect a debt in XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX University, which I do not owe. They did not inform me I had the right to dispute, did not include ANY of the necessary and lawful warnings. Luckily, I knew my rights under the FDCPA and disputed, pointing out that they had not only failed to disclose my rights to dispute but also included a collection notice on the front, which is disallowed. I disputed and informed them of this, saying they needed to cease collection or I would go after them for the two FDCPA violations. They THEN sent me another collection letter, over 30 days after initial communication, and included the necessary information, attempting to backtrack and make it look like they had done this all along. They need to cease collection, as they failed to inform me within 5 days of initial contact that I had the right to dispute. THey have also never validated it, and they included it was a collection attempt on the envelope, thus violating my rights under the FDCPA numerous times.

They left a voicemail on my phone at XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX for my father. I no longer have any debts with any collectors. In this voicemail they said : we need the documents as soon as possible that we have sent out to you recently by mail for your student loans so we can see if you do qualify for the forgiveness program that was recently approved by the government call back if you have any questions or concerns at XXXX extension XXXX. I am not aware of any forgiveness programs. They have called and left me messages multiple times over the past few months and have tried other deceptive tactics ( like mumbling their name and objective for the call ).
