Citation text line 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Winding Area (Winder 1) - On or about October 5, 2017, the employer did not have machine guarding for Winder 1 including, but not limited to, the chucks that spin and the carriage that employees would stand on exposing the employees to caught-in and struck-by hazards working in and around the winder. b) Winding Area (Winder 2) - On or about October 5, 2017, the employer did not have machine guarding for Winder 2 including, but not limited to, the chucks that spin and the carriage that employees would stand on exposing the employees to caught-in and struck-by hazards working in and around the winder. c) Winding Area (Winder 3) - On or about October 5, 2017, the employer did not have machine guarding for Winder 3 including, but not limited to, the chucks that spin and the carriage that employees would ride and stand on exposing the employees to caught-in and struck-by hazards working in and around the winder.
