29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b): (a) Worksite, roof - An employee was sheathing the steep pitch roof, without fall protection. The roof pitch was approximately 6:12 and the employee was not protected from falling approximately 9 feet to the second floor or the ground below. A guardrail, safety net or personal fall arrest system was not provided for the employee, on or about October 12, 2012. (b) Worksite, second floor - Employees were framing the exterior walls on the edge of the second floor without fall protection. The employees were not protected from falling, approximately 9 feet, to the ground below. A guardrail, safety net or personal fall arrest system was not provided for the employees, on or about October12, 2012. Note: In addition to abatement certification the employer is required to submit abatement documentation for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19. |
