DO NOT GET THIS CARD. Oh my goodness gracious good golly me, I should have listened when I read someone say the exact same thing.
Yes, it is easy and has a low interest rate..but that is it AND they barely even provide those things. It is very sneaky in the beginning when they let you access your funds digitally even though you haven't gotten your card yet and I should have seen that red flag a mile away. Off the bat, the card also starts denying charges randomly like big purchases and approving minute things like fast food and groceries. The whole XXXX reason I got this card is because my truck broke down and my dog got very sick and passed away within the same two week period and I needed help. Once I had access to my funds, despite all of my settings being exactly where they should be ... .time and time again this card would deny charges, despite them being located within a few zip codes of my address. So nothing to alert fraud about. A text even came through on my phone asking me if a charge to my veterinarian was fraud. I said it was not, but it still proceeded to deny charges 4 times before I had to give up, charge my debit card and go into over {$1000.00} worth of debt for over 3 weeks that I just climbed out of yesterday.
Again, I was approved for a card with a balance of {$2100.00}, AND I COULD NOT USE IT WHEN I DESPERATELY NEEDED TO. Do you know frustrating, maddening and honestly tear inducing it is to not be able to pick up the ashes of your dead dog or get your truck out of the mechanic shop even though it is ready for you, all because your new credit card that you got ( ironically called prosper even ) won't go through and you KNOW you have the available funds.
These people are evil, and this company should be ashamed of itself.
Customer service a a XXXX joke. They send you first in a 3-7 hour call loop where not a soul will pick up the phone, and whenever you think you've found help, it's just the awful answering service cutting out and making you THINK someone is about to answer your call. ( This will happen around 50 times depending how long you sit on that call while contemplating life and its meaning. ).
After you've sat on hold for 3 hours the first time, you hang up angrily and XXXX " poor customer service prosper card contact information '' on XXXX and find a different number! AWESOME!? no. It's the same call loop only that it now has a person who answers! ( who was quite friendly I will give her that ) but has : 1. No Clearance to help your special problem, and doesn't really seem to know who does. ( HINT - IT IS THE FRAUD DEPARTMENT ... SEND ME THERE! ) 2. No idea where to really send you, so they send you back to the original number that is provided for customer service. But hey! That number is the one you sat on hold with for XXXX hours the first time. AND IT GOES ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON.
Don't get me started on email correspondence either. I tried the email address provided ( XXXX once I knew the call number was a joke, but this my friends, this is an absolute joke. If you need any more proof that this card is a joke, a fraud and these people should be held responsible, I will gladly provide it to you. I have screenshots, emails, recordings and more. This is unfair and should be shut down before more people fall victim to it.
**I have read that it is also very hard to pay off your balance on this card and it then goes into collection. While this has not yet happened to me, I am only assuming it will by the type of procedures and policies that this company has. DO NOT GET THIS CARD.

I prepay all of my bills in full whenever possible, without consideration for but always weeks before, and usually almost immediately- but never late. I don't send payments without having the funds, as I don't make purchases without knowing when I will pay for them in full. I made two payments on this credit card through the app as I do with this and all of my other cards. I checked and make sure on the card and saw that there had been returns. I checked my bank account to see if I had been hacked, and all of the money was still there. My bank returned the two payments because the credit card app submitted a wrong account number. I have been paying these bills for months and always on the app, and I have never changed the account number as I have had this account for 46 years. There was clearly a glitch in the app. I called XXXXXXXX XXXX where my account was and I merge them with Prosper the card company, and it was confirmed that I had the money in the account. The Prosper person understood that it was ridiculous that I was going to the app and change my account number. They put the transaction through again while we're on the phone, it went through without issue, without me doing anything to the account number in the app. Prosper has now reduced my dramatically reduced my credit limit, and is saying I need to pay a higher fee for this card effective next month. They're taking these actions as though my account was in arrears or that this was caused by me. I can't dump the card because I don't want to impact my credit, although they have already impacted it by reducing the limit. This is grossly unfair! The rep for prosper acknowledge they can see how I pay the bill early all the time. It says though I'm being punished for trying to keep my bill at XXXX dollars.

I applied for a loan through Prosper after being pre approved via XXXX XXXX. I began the application, but decided to hold off. They sent me numerous emails asking me to finish the application.
I received one email per day starting on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX I decided to take the offer. They required one piece of documentation after the application and funds were approved ; proof of income.
However, their process of acquiring that proof appears to be either arbitrary, or nefarious. The only option given is to submit a pay stub. My employer, however, does not provide me with that. He just writes me a check. I am a XXXX XXXX. So, I submitted the most recent check I had.
I received a phone call today, XX/XX/XXXX, stating that they needed a pay stub, not a check. I asked what information they would need since my employer does not provide a pay stub. I found it irrelevant how the information was given, provided that they had the information. However, the woman made it clear she was not going to give anything anyway and that I had to submit a pay stub and they would not accept anything else.
So, I submitted a pay stub with the following information : Employer name, address, tax ID #, and phone number ; my social security number, address, phone number ; the check number and paid date ; federal, state, local, social security and XXXX withholdings ; gross and net pay.
She denied the document citing " the information was inappropriate, '' and not clarifying beyond that. I called back and talked to another individual. When I pressed on why they are so coy about what information they require of me to prove I have an income she said, " if we tell you what information we need, then you'll just give us that, '' as if that is nefarious and an individual has to guess what they're looking for or lose out on the loan.
If they need information to prove my income, then they need to let me know what that information is beyond a " pay stub, '' since I provided that and they deemed it " inappropriate. '' The agent appears to want the information in some arbitrary format that nobody at Prosper is willing to disclose. The institution needs to simply review and verify what I have given them to see that I do, in fact, have an income. Their unwillingness to do so, I believe, is discriminatory and intentionally deceptive.

I submitted an online loan application on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. After loading my bank account information for the loan proceeds and monthly payments, I could no longer access my account and finalize the loan terms. Repeated calls and email exchanges with their client services and VOC Manager XXXX XXXX resulted in no resolution. XXXX XXXX and the client services team constantly contradicted each other as to the cause of the issue. I was informed by client services that I had created XXXX accounts, # XXXX and # XXXX. The latter account is not mine, and I repeatedly told both XXXX XXXX and the client services team it was not. The latter account was even created with an email address that is clearly not mine. The email address contains the domain of a company I did n't even know existed, and currently operates out of the state of Tennessee. The most disturbing detail stated on the response by their client services on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX is my social security number is listed on the account that is not mine ( the email from client services is being accompanied with this complaint ). I informed client services and XXXX XXXX to delete all of my personal information as I would not conduct any business with them since they can not guarantee the would not conduct any business with them since they can not guarantee the confidentiality and safekeeping of my personal information. Surprisingly, I received an email from Prosper on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX stating their Privacy Policy XXXX. Clearly, my personal information has not been removed from their files. I am concerned about the possible access and or distribution of my personal information, as they did not perform their duty to keep it confidential from what I can see at this time.

On XX/XX/2022, someone called with XXXX number saying was from XXXX XXXX, just want to verify my phone number with account. I was suspicious. I immediately call XXXX XXXX and they said that there was nothing wrong with my account. The person continued calling me over 10 times and I refused to answer. At the time, I notice a welcome email from Prosper. I didn't want open it nor any subsequent email from Prosper. However, I received a credit card with a snapshot of spending on it. So I called Prosper -- again, without providing personal information like birthday, etc. other than my name that was already on the card. The person, XXXX, stated that he submit a request to close the card and close any information on it. He also provided a ticket number, XXXX.

According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Section 609 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ), Credit Bureaus are required by federal law to verify - through the physical verification of the original signed consumer contract - any and all accounts Credit Bureaus post on a credit report. Otherwise, anyone paying for Credit Bureaus reporting services could fax, mail or email in a fraudulent account.
I demanded to see Verifiable Proof ( an original Consumer Contract with my Signature on it ) Credit Bureaus have on file of the Prosper Marketplace Loan account .Ive Been trying to verify this account for four months from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and the Credit Bureaus failed to positively verify these accounts and has hurt my ability to obtain credit. Under the FCRA, unverified accounts must be removed and if you are unable to provide me a copy of verifiable proof

Please note this complaint is about being an investor in Prosper, a peer to peer lender ( similar to XXXX XXXX ), but there was not an option to select for this. Between XXXX I investe d ~ {$1300 0.00} in various notes and Annualized Returns for the period averaged around 10 % for this period. I recently received an email saying Prosper had incorrectly calculated the Annualized Returns, so they now appear to be about one half of what they initially stated, including a negative return in XXXX . Had I known actual returns were less than one half of what was stated, I would have not continued to invest in loans. From speaking with a manager, it sounds that this was unintentional error, but nonetheless my investment decisions wer e based on their information.
