ACROSS THE THREE SCHOOL DISTRICTS THAT SERVE THIS ZIP CODE, 47% OF STUDENTS ARE WHITE, 25% HISPANIC, 19% BLACK OR AFRICAN AMERICAN, 4% ASIAN, AND 4% TWO OR MORE RACES. ONE PERCENT OF THE SCHOOL POPULATION IS HOMELESS. THE CNA WILL DOCUMENT CURRENT RESOURCES, GAPS, AND THE CAPACITY TO ADDRESS THE ONSET AND PROGRESSION OF SUBSTANCE MISUSE AND ITS RELATED PROBLEMS. THE CNA WILL SEGUE INTO STEP TWO - CAPACITY-WHICH WILL FOCUS ON STRENGTHENING THE COMMUNITY'S RESOURCES, PARTNERSHIPS, AND PREVENTION SKILLS. LOCAL COMMUNITY PARTNERS AND STAKEHOLDERS WILL BE TRAINED IN EVIDENCE-BASED STRATEGIES THAT WILL BE CARRIED OUT IN THE COMMUNITY. IN STEP THREE AND FOUR (PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION), THE COALITION WILL DEVELOP AN IMPLEMENTATION PLAN AND BEGIN TO IMPLEMENT STRATEGIES IDENTIFIED IN THE PLAN. IN THE FIFTH AND FINAL STEP, EVALUATION, THE COALITION WILL EVALUATE THE IMPACT OF THE IMPLEMENTATION PLAN ACTIVITIES DELIVERED IN THE COMMUNITY ON AN ONGOING BASIS.
