29 CFR 1926.451(c)(2)(v): The employer used forklifts to support scaffold platforms without ensuring that the entire platform was attached to the fork and that the forklift was not moved horizontally while the platform was occupied: a) New Hope Farm, 5937 Route 11, Homer, NY 13077, on or about 4/12/23, carpenters were working from a platform supported by a rough terrain fork truck where the platform exceeded the maximum width (relative to the fork truck) required in ASME B56.6-2002-2005. The excessive length of the platform relative to it's support (the fork truck) applies tangential forces to the system that could cause it to fall over. Workers were on the platform while the forklift and platform were moved. |
