OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards: a) On or about 7/30/2014, Manure Processing Barn: Employees were exposed to falls of twelve feet into liquid manure pits. b) On or about 7/30/2014, Manure Processing Barn: Employees were exposed to falls of twelve feet from an elevated platform. Among other feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to install top rails and midrails on the open sided floors and platform which would comply with the American National Standards Institute, ANSI, Standard A1264.1-2007, Safety Requirements for Floor and Wall Openings, Railings, and Toeboards, Section 3 and Section 5. Abatement certification is required for this item. |

OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to electrocution hazards: a) On or about 9/10/2014, Outside of the Old Barn Hospital: A panel box/ control panel was open, with a wooden 2X4 across the top of the panel and the door, exposing energized parts. Among other feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to ensure that a proper cover is in place that would cover the energized parts inside of the panel box, which would comply with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Code 70, National Electric Code, Article 110.27. Abatement certification is required for this item. |
