29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): The employer did not develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written hazard communication program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f), (g), and (h) will be met: (a) On or about December 15, 2016, at work site at 55-43 Myrtle Avenue, Ridgewood, NY 11385 The employer had not developed or implemented a written hazard communication program to address the potential exposure of employees to hazardous chemicals while they prepared and processed lenses for fitting in eye glass frames. Such processing can potentially emit chemicals such as hydrogen sulfide and dusts which can irritate the eyes, skin and respiratory system. In addition, BPI Molecular Catalytic dyes, including the Yellow dye which contains a suspected carcinogen, which were used for lens tinting, were used and stored in areas accessed by the employees. |
