I called to see what debt they was talking about and the creditor was rude and nasty saying I owe XXXX XXXX and I try to tell him I never had a XXXX XXXX card and I wanted to dispute this debt. He was rude and nasty and said well we will keep calling and hung up. The debt collector is direct recovery XXXX. They are calling my family members and I do not know how they got their numbers. They are also threatening me by leaving messages. I called back and another person answers but not addressing my issue because she on the phone with someone else.

The company or scammers were reaching out and calling my family members to get a hold of me to pay a supposed debt for a shopping network of {$19.00} dollars in The month of XX/XX/2021. When I called the XXXX XXXX they told me that They do not work with that " debt company '' and had never heard of them. The " debt company '' has called me repeatedly and leaving odd messages even after I specified to them that I wanted a written notice of debt owed. Almost into the XXXX week of my last actual conversation with them and they have not mailed anything but they still keep calling me and leaving odd messages.

This debt collector calls from XXXX and have been calling family members saying I have a debt and if I dont contact them I will be in a legal battle. My family have the recordings and dates of these harassing calls. I have not ever received any letters pertaining to such debt and in addition they address me using my married name which I have stopped using in all legal ways since my divorce 15 yrs ago.
I did call them today to ask what this is all about and when I mentioned I havent carried that name in 15 yrs this representative wanted me to tell them my date of birth which I refused being they still havent told me the reason of the calls plus told them its illegal to disclose a debt to third parties. This representative cursed me and hung up.

Re Direct Recovery, XXXX. They were hostile and I don't think I have any unaccounted for debts.
XX/XX/18 XXXX I got a phone call on my cell phone from XXXX, which I let go to voice mail. The message said that because I did not respond previously that I needed to call XXXX. There were no details. I called XXXX on my work phone around XXXX XXXX. I asked who is this business. He said Direct Recovery, then he said hostilely to look it up on line. I said what is this regarding. He said they were debt collectors. He was very upset that I did not call from my cell phone. He was hostile on the phone ; he was asking for my information. I said before I give it to him I need to know more. He cut the phone call short.
I do not know what this is regarding. I don't know what I owe that I'm not already paying.

I get repeated calls from ( XXXX ) XXXX & ( XXXX ) XXXX. They leave a message that this is a confidential matter and that they are trying to collect a debt. I do not identify myself on my VM, so they should not be leaving this message. They have also called my parents house and my ex-husband and left messages on their VM. They are not respecting my privacy. They say on the message to go to the website and enter the account number they give to pay the debt. I tried just to see if this is for a legit debt and the account number doesn't exist. As far as I'm concerned this is a scam. They threaten to take legal action if the debt is not paid. The voice on the message sounds like a robot. They identify themselves as Direct Recovery Services.

On XX/XX/21 I received a voicemail from XXXX XXXX XXXX stating he was from Direct Recovery Services and my account number is XXXX and I could pay my debt online at www.directrecoveryservices.com, with a call back number of XXXX. I went to the website and put in the account number and it said it was not found. The website also list telephone number XXXX. I called XXXX, spoke to XXXX XXXX and was asked to provide my address or the last 4 of my social security number and when I refused her line went blank. I called back, spoke to XXXX XXXX who informed me that I needed to speak to XXXX, when I asked why she could not assist me she became very aggressive and I ended the call.

I received 3 voicemails today from this company on 2 different numbers that are listed to me. They were the same exact automated messages from phone numbers : XXXX and XXXX. I called the number back and it went to a Direct Recovery Services. Upon reaching a representative, they used several misleading statements that mislead me to believe that there are further consequences for not paying a credit card bill. The representative mentioned several times that she wanted to help me get into a " voluntary '' payment arrangement, which indicates the possibility of involuntary action in which this agency has no authority in doing so.
The phone calls were automated calls to a cell phone without permission. The collector pushed for a payment today by using the word required when there is no requirement for me to get into an arrangement. The collector demanded a payment today, which overshadows the validation period of them sending me a letter and allowing me the opportunity to dispute the debt before demanding a payment today, and they verified my address so I know they have the correct address to send the paperwork to.
President Trump has recently signed into law, the TRACED law in order to prevent these types of automated, misleading, and aggressive collection tactics and is increasing the amount of possible damages per phone call from {$1000.00} per call to {$10000.00} per call. After I already spoke to a representative, later on I received another call from a different number with the same voicemail that I already returned the call earlier that same day. Even when I do call them back, they still call repeatedly. I had more questions for the representative but she hung up on me once she figured out I wasn't believing her lies and threats and making payment today. Once there was no money, she hung up on me without even giving me the chance to finish my sentence. These collection tactics are some of the most aggressive and misleading that I've ever experienced.

Direct Recovery Services contacted and left voicemails for me on my mother 's number. There, it identified my name, my account number, the name of this business, and the fact that I owe money. This is not the first time they have done this. I have no clue what these people are after, because they've never written me anything explaining what debt they're allegedly trying to collect, nor have they informed me of my right to dispute. They keep calling nearby individuals, including my Mom, Dad, and brother at this point, and now they've left voicemails, despite me having told them to stop when they first tried.

I owed a debt to XXXX XXXX. I was contacted by Direct Recovery to pay the debt. They also called my mother and in laws discussing the debt with them. I arranged to pay the debt off in 2 payments of {$160.00} and did so on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. At that time I asked the debt collector to stop contacting my family members. They apologized for doing so and said they would remove all family members from my account and their numbers would NEVER be called again which were my Mother and my in laws and my husband. I attempted to contact Direct Recovery by the number they had given me on our initial call. The person that answered said they were sorry but there were no accounts with them for me and they frequently get calls for Direct Recovery Services and they are Direct Recovery Inc and they wanted to warn me that the people that are calling me from DRS are a SCAM. I was at this point very upset and continued to try and reach out. I emailed the email I had from my initial call and asked that my 2nd payment be postponed until two weeks later. No one ever responded and the payment was taken from my account that week putting me even farther behind in debt. However, I was relieved to have the debt taken care of. The next week my in laws received ANOTHER call from Direct Recovery AGAIN providing details to them about the debt and that it was still owed. ( Even though it was paid in full ) I assured them it had to have been an oversight as this bill is paid and to let me know if they called again. I was so embarrassed that my in laws were told I owed a debt that I had gave up other bills to pay. Fast forward to this past Saturday they were calling my family members AGAIN and myself AND my husbands cell phone! This was EXTREMELY upsetting and I called the number they left. I spoke to a gentleman who never identified himself. He apologized for my being so upset. I asked why they are calling me and FAMILY members when the debt is PAID. He said it must have never been taken from the report and there was nothing he could do. He went on to say how busy they are and that he was working on his day off even though I have NO idea how this has anything to do with these people relentlessly harassing my family members and myself. Especially when the debt is PAID and they continue to call and harass not only me but my family. It is embarrassing and unethical and I am very upset over it as is my family. He did inadvertly read aloud emails received from me and read the email where I asked them to post pone the payment so I do know they received that email and IGNORED it even though the initial gentleman I spoke with had told me if ANY issues arose where I needed to change a payment just to email or call and NO problem at all they could change it. I told this current person they caused further financial hardships for me by taking the payment even when I had told them not to. Please please look into this! This company is unethical and they should be ashamed of them selves and the way that they conduct business. As I told them I am a hard working citizen doing my VERY best to get these debts taken care of as I can but I do NOT appreciate their harassing behavior especially when it involves my innocent family and my private information which they are sharing. And I fear they may be some sort of scam buying old debts and not actually applying the payments to the debt. This has all been very upsetting to myself and my family. I explained I lost my job in XXXX and he told me he would notate my account. today I get a call from a person who claimed he stated his name, and when I asked again he refused to tell me and played hang up on me as he stated something to the effect you already spoke to XXXX we will forward this for further action... I demanded answers and he hung up on me again third time i called he lied said he didn't then put me on hold for someone named XXXX who also played that keep asking my name question as I already told them yes and wanted to play more games then I get a tarin on the phone who states she has no record of the previous person I spoke to!!!!! lies and against the law
