After completing and paying for one class with my finical Aid I discovered that XXXX University Education program was not an accredited school in XXXX XXXX. Complaint What Happened I would like to file a complaint of conduct for the debt collection agency, Ability Recovery Services, for their inability to follow legal requirements of providing a Debt Validation Note and/or effective communication through phone call or in person about the debt under the current FDCPA policies. According to current FDCPA regulations, debt collection agencies are required to provide possible consumers in it's first line of communication with the following information : 1. The amount of debt. 2. The name of the current Creditor to whom the debt is currently owed to. 3. A statement unless the consumer, within 30 days after receipt of notice, disputes the validity of the debt, or any portion thereof, the debt will be assumed to be valid by the debt collector. 4. A statement that if the customer notifies the debt collector in writing within 30-day period that the debt, or any thereof is disputed, the debt collector will obtain verification of the debt or a copy of such judgment against the consumer and a copy of such verification or judgement be mailed to the consumer of the debt collector, and 5. A statement, upon the consumers written request within 30-day period, the debt collector will provide the consumer with the name and address of the original creditor, if different from current collector. If the initial communication doesn't have this information the debt collector has 5 days to provide this information. Under current provisions, this debt collector, Ability Recovery Services has failed to even provide any initial communication. I have no record of any phone calls, voicemails, in person notification, physical or digital mail for this agency about the debt that showcased on my Credit Report from the XXXX credit report agency. My first acknowledgement of this debt was through my credit report and my XXXX XXXX account under Derogatory marks. The total amount reported on my Credit Report for XXXX is {$1400.00}. The debt was reported on XX/XX/2022. According to current policies, they would need to have spoken to me in first initial contact, and then send a Debt Notice, and allow 14 business days after the notice is sent before reporting to any credit agency. I have no record of this.

Complaint What Happened I am writing to dispute the Ability Recovery Service XXXX in my file : This account has been in my report since I started working closely on improving my credit score. I was honestly surprised that this keeps on reporting inaccurately in my credit report because I dont recognize that account base on the report of Ability Recovery Service . Please know this letter will be sent thru certified mail on making sure that this account will no longer show in my credit report because of FCRA violations. Below are the violations reported : XXXX ) Date when the account was opened is inaccurate, reporting and violating the FCRA laws because I havent opened any account this year in the institutions mentioned above in my XXXX credit report, please provide in writing the agreement of this account. Complaint What Happened I was notified several years ago of a debt that I allegedly owed to a school. The name of the school is/was XXXX XXXX.Upon information and belief It was/is an online school. The amount of the loan was XXXX. After looking at it I noticed that the date of birth didnt match mine nor was any phone number ever used by myself. The company continues to attempt to collect despite the FTC Identity theft report and my many calls and correspondences. Ive called and was hung up on on numerous occasions. I disputed this debt on XX/XX/2021 as I have already settled with XXXX XXXX as of XX/XX/2021. Complaint What Happened XXXX keeps reporting a deleted collection as accurate. The collection agency deleted the account and XXXX removed it but not XXXX. I have been trying to contact XXXX about this and they still keep reporting as of today. I have proof that the account is inaccurate and not mine. I have submitted a dispute numerous times and they wont delete it, even though the agency deleted it from all 3 bureaus. According to the FCRA, incorrect, inaccurate, unverified accounts must be deleted from credit reporting but XXXX isnt following the law.

I never received any contact ( phone, email, letters ) from this school saying i am a student and owe this debt. Please delete this collection account of my credit reports. I have no idea what they are collecting for they told me that I signed up with a company but never got any paperwork what they are collecting for or anything which seems to be mine. I called them again and still haven't gotten anything back. The amount they are collecting does not add up.

Complaint What Happened I recently viewed my credit report and I see that I have a collection of {$630.00} of a hospital bill that I was n't aware of at all. I did have a car accident three years ago and went to the hospital but I was told the insurance company was gon na pay for it since I was the passenger of the person driving the vehicle. And now it 's appreared on credit report 2 months ago and it 's messing up my credit and I called the company twice and they were very very rude and did n't give me enough information and hung up the phone. I need this off my credit report please.

Complaint What Happened the debt collection company has written me several times and I have told them that I didn't owe the debt. that I had cancelled the online course within 3 weeks. I had provided proof to them and I was told that I still owed the full amount of XXXX I have asked them to stop contacting me and that I only wanted to deal with the original creditor. I have reported this to the credit bureaus as well. meanwhile this company continues to update my credit file every month. I even requested that they show me proof that I owe this debt and as of today they haven't, meanwhile the company don't even have me in there system of oweing them anything

Complaint What Happened on XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX I opened a account trying to finish my education with XXXX XXXX but couldn't because I was being XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and had to move and file a police report lost everything including my XXXX XXXX and losing my apartment 3 months later I couldn't pay to finish my education I had to put everything on hold and get me and my kids to a better place I called an told them this but no one wanted to listen I even send letters and proof of what was going on they still charged me and left me with a balance of {$350.00} and as up today the account still say opened and its suppose to say closed and removed I tried calling them and they told me to call a 3rd party who owns the account which doesn't make any sense

Complaint What Happened I have written several certified letters To ( Ability Recovery ) requesting validation, made pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act, along with the corresponding local state laws. which they claim ( I owe them {$1600.00} ) Please note that I am requesting validation ; that is competent evidence bearing my signature, showing that I have ( or ever had ) some contractual obligation to pay you, for a debt that I dont owe, is a violation of the FCRA & FDCPA ; therefore if you can not validate the debt, you must request that all credit reporting agencies delete the entry.
