XXXX XXXX has changed their app security and is putting millions of customers at risk. There is a digital wallet on the app store that can easily be scammed now. The app permissions in app details has been removed and the only details regarding security come from the developer, which malicious app devs will lie about. This will lead to various scams. The supposed data safety is just whatever the app dev says and even the encryption is not verified, so anyone can lie and say they are storing in the best encryption while selling financial data hacked from the phone as we do not know permissions an app is using. Many malicious permissions can't even be disabled in settings, like run at startup and run in background. It is easy for XXXX to list these permissions as it is in the app manifest, and they obviously removed to try getting cautious users to download app with unnecessary permissions that may be malicious.
Please force XXXX to add the permissions requested for an app to the app details in the XXXX XXXX

Starting in 2016 I have received monthly recurring charges on my XXXX XXXX debit card. The charges initially were for XXXX from XXXX XXXX. Once I noticed the charges I would contact Google from the number listed on my statement. They would go over my existing google accounts and find out that I had no method of payment listed on those accounts, as I could tell them myself. Then would then issue a refund for the charges and tell me to contact my bank and have a new card issued. I went through this process 3 times over the past year and a half. On the fourth time I noticed that several other charges had been processed along with the monthly recurring charge. I contacted my bank and together we called google billing support to investigate and see if they could block future charges from going through. The representative was singularly nasty and hung up after saying that it was my bank 's responsibility. They did not even take my information to confirm the ongoing case. I have since closed that bank account and switch banks because of this. XXXX I believe did a good faith effort to resolve things, but Google has shown little initiative in finding the root cause of this. Four attempts are more than enough. I have a case number from google and two fraud case reference numbers from XXXX.

I was victim of a scam perpetrated with Google Play cards. Fake lawyer instructed me to purchase {$2000.00} ( 4x {$500.00} ) cards on XX/XX/18 to send him codes which he will then convert to cash to use for bail money : my grandson being XXXX. Once I determined scam and refused to send I was left with uncashed/unredeemed cards- Unable to use. Google refuses to redeem or cash, restricted use to only digital games/movies and can not be used for Google hardware. As an XXXX year old Senior can not use {$2000.00} for digital games The Google play cards thus became a vehicle to laundering money by fraudsters and render Google an ac cessory to scam by refusing to cash or buy back from owner.
Have contacted Google Play CS onXX/XX/XXXX- thjey are totally inflexible about buying back cards or exchanging for something of value.

I was supposed to receive concert tickets after sending " XXXX XXXX '' {$150.00} through Google Wallet. The concert was on XX/XX/2017 and I never received the tickets. Since then he has blocked me on twitter after he stopped responding to my messages. Therefore, I ca n't see the direct messages between us anymore. At first he sent me a broken link that said XXXX which was weird because he told me the tickets were on XXXX. The link that I opened was broken. He told me that I could pick the tickets up at the venue which was a lie because I 'd need his ID and credit card information to pick it up. When I asked him he blocked me. This girl that was also scammed by the same exact guy received her money back that same exact day. I 've taken the same steps that she has and I still have n't received my money. Also a representative named XXXX, from Google 's support team, was the one that told me that XXXX was a scammer. He told me that his account is know for fraudulent transactions. Since that is the case, my money should have never went through to his account. Google wallet comes with 100 % fraud monitoring supposedly. This is why I do n't understand why is it that the first person I spoke to on the phone from Google payments ( XXXX ) told me immediately when he saw who I sent my money to that he is known for fraudulent transactions and scamming people out of their money. I want to know why his account is still open and more importantly why any money that is being sent to him goes through if it is on Google 's database that he is a scammer. I was not protected in the slightest and I want my money back from HIM. Not from my bank which is n't being helpful at all but from him especially since you know he is a scammer and let my money go through to his account regardless. My bank ( XXXX ) told me that I have to file a police report and even then there is not a good chance that I 'll get reimbursed. I just really need my money back and no one wants to help me. Thanks.

I have purchased Google Playstore Gift cards worth {$2000.00} from XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX with an intention of buying Google Devices from the Playstore website.
I called the Google Playstore Customer service and they informed us that I can not use Google Playstore credit to buy hardware. However, it was in the same call, the rep informed me that she could redeem all the cards on behalf of us and they would try to request for a refund or keep the funds in our account. I told the customer service rep that we would give the card details only if she can assure a refund and the rep was very optimistic and made us believe that she can get the refund for us. If I were informed of any possible problem, I could have avoided disclosing the gift card details and we could have kept all the cards with our self.
So, right after we gave the gift card information, they have limited my access to our account " XXXXXXXXXXXX '' and all these days, I have been communicating with them and doing frequent follow-ups about the status of the gift cards. Every time I call the Playstore customer service, they would point me to the Google wallet team who blocked my account. So my calls get transferred to the Google Wallet and they would come back asking me to upload verification documents and someone would follow-up with me.
Since XXXX XXXX, I have uploaded the requested verification documents numerous times and have called them more than 50 times and every time I call in, my call gets transferred to numerous departments talking more than an hour with no outcome. More than 50 emails were exchanged between me and Google Playstore, Google Wallet and Google Commerce requesting for reinstating my account so that the Google Playstore could refund my money.
For over 15 months until XXXX XXXX, all I was being told is my Google Wallet account has been closed and Google Playstore being linked internally to Google Wallet, I can not use my Google Playstore funds. I do n't really care for the Google wallet and all I requested was to refund my money.
I am tired of contacting them again and again and I have wasted so much of my time in my life. The last time I have contacted them XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and since then I completely stopped contacting them as I became very busy with my school work. At my work place I was advised to contact CFPB and then try to reach small claims.
Today I am contacting CFPB to hope I would get some reprieve in getting my blocked funds back.

On XX/XX/XXXX at approx XXXX XXXX I cancelled a transaction of {$400.00} that I had entered on Google Payments. I received a confirmation of the cancellation. I relied upon the information and used the funds to make other payments. The following day they debited my bank account the {$400.00}. They have been telling me since then and are now telling me that it will be 710 days to return the funds that they should not have taken. Their support center has done nothing to correct the error. The just repeat the information on their website or cut and paste it into an email. I think that it is either inconvenient to have people Available to correct their errors. The claim that it is impossible to fix. Certainly there is a person capable of correcting this but they cant or wont relay the information. As they are not regulated like a bank they seem to believe that they dont have obligations. This is costing me hundreds of dollars in fees and loss of reputation. Their representitive offered me a {$5.00} courtesy credit. I need the {$400.00} back and will address the fees later. Thank you.

The other personal affairs concern a company named Google. Google has allowed game developers to advertise falsely. In two games played, I have accrued a payout of over XXXX to XXXX. I was never paid. I could not recover these amounts. These apps appear on the XXXX XXXX XXXX. As a consumer, I do not receive the care that many others receive, perhaps because I am a woman and XXXX. Every time I report unauthorized charges, as a penalty, Google blocks my account and only will reinstate it if I send in several pieces of information like photos of my ID, debit card, and other legal documents. How often will I provide my personal information before they can verify me? The only thing that has changed is my debit card. I fear Google employees are misusing customers ' private data for other matters, or it is sold to others globally. They seem to request this too often or whenever a complaint is launched against them.

My name is XXXX XXXX and I am a senior citizen and I am also on social security.
I am a Google email user and the email I am complaining about is XXXX I signed up for email address to use in my XXXX account so as to be receiving verification codes and I have been using the email for more than a year now.
Few days ago, google disabled my email address and said they suspected it was used for phishing and they said I can appeal the decision.
My email address has never been used for phishing before. So I appealed the decision to have it reenabled and I never heard back from Google. The case number google gave me is [ XXXX ] This has done a lot of damages to me because I used email to link to my Online social security for verification code when I want to log in. I have not been able to access my social security account for now because the code is being sent to my email address.
I have over {$4500.00} US dollars in my XXXX account and I can not withdraw because XXXX recently sent a code to my email and asked me to provide the code, but google shut down my email address. There is no way for me to change my email on XXXX because they will first of all send email to the old email that was linked for confirmation before a new email can be added.
Also few of the online banks which has no location that I have Account with I can not log in because my email which google XXXX was used for codes too.
I am officially writing to Google using this complaint to enable my email address so I can be able to withdraw my funds from social security and XXXX because I have been so frustrated in the past days please.

Google Pay has offers for spending at specific merchants after activating the offer in the app. One such offer was 4.5 % cashback for spending at XXXX XXXX. I followed all the instructions and spent at XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/2021 but have yet to receive the credit to my account. I sent evidence to XXXX, including the receipt and screenshots demonstrating the offer was activated and my credit card was enrolled in the offer. It has been nearly XXXX months of back and forth emails in which XXXX has frustratingly asked me to re-send evidence and insisted that my card was not enrolled, not understanding the root cause of their problem. XXXX 's process is simply broken. Even though the terms say you have to " pay with enrolled card, plastic or contact less. You don't have to use Google pay '', the system is not actually integrated this way as the plastic/contactless transactions ( at least on XXXX ) are not registered in the app. Presumably this is why I was not automatically credited, but XXXX has instead insisted my card is not enrolled even though I demonstrated irrefutable evidence that it is.

Google pay has no refund policy on scamsters. I told Google just 5mins. from the transaction message. They have not helped me at all. They have been going in loops. Now they want me to get the money back from some scamster. I don't even know. I need full refund. I would never ever recommend anyone to Google pay.

This is my 2nd CFPB complaint for the very same problem.
My prior complaint XXXX was closed with a promise of a full resolution by the company representative XXXX with Ref XXXX.
The request has just gone to dust and Google still doesn't respond to any of my email.
Description of the problem : -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- I have purchased Google XXXX Gift cards worth {$2000.00} from XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX with an intention of buying Google Devices from the XXXX website. I called the Google XXXX Customer service and they informed us that I can not use XXXX XXXX credit to buy hardware. However, it was in the same call, the rep informed me that she could redeem all the cards on behalf of us and they would try to request for a refund or keep the funds in our account. I told the customer service rep that we would give the card details only if she can assure a refund and the rep was very optimistic and made us believe that she can get the refund for us. If I were informed of any possible problem, I could have avoided disclosing the gift card details and we could have kept all the cards with our self. So, right after we gave the gift card information, they have limited my access to our account " XXXX '' and all these days, I have been communicating with them and doing frequent follow-ups about the status of the gift cards. Every time I call the XXXX customer service, they would point me to the Google wallet team who blocked my account. So my calls get transferred to the Google Wallet and they would come back asking me to upload verification documents and someone would follow-up with me. Since XX/XX/XXXX, I have uploaded the requested verification documents numerous times and have called them more than 50 times and every time I call in, my call gets transferred to numerous departments talking more than an hour with no outcome. More than 50 emails were exchanged between me and Google XXXX, Google Wallet and Google Commerce requesting for reinstating my account so that the Google XXXX could refund my money. For over 15 months until XX/XX/XXXX, all I was being told is my Google Wallet account has been closed and Google XXXX being linked internally to Google Wallet, I can not use my Google XXXX funds. I don't really care for the Google wallet and all I requested was to refund my money. I am tired of contacting them again and again and I have wasted so much of my time in my life. The last time I have contacted them XX/XX/XXXX and since then I completely stopped contacting them as I became very busy with my school work. At my work place I was advised to contact CFPB and then try to reach small claims. Today I am contacting CFPB to hope I would get some reprieve in getting my blocked funds back. I would appreciate all your help in this regard.

I made a purchase on XXXX for an XXXX XXXX of {$400.00} and XXXX as a company is connected to XXXX for payment. I initially paid {$420.00} with the additional {$15.00} fee for using XXXX as a service. This was done on XX/XX/XXXX, however on XX/XX/XXXX I received an email stating that I was going to be refunded the {$400.00} dollars from the seller XXXX XXXX around XX/XX/2019, but on that day I only received the {$15.00} dollars back from using the XXXX service. In order to remedy the fact that I was not receiving a phone from the initial buy, I proceed to buy another phone for {$380.00} and received it on XX/XX/XXXX. In attempts to call XXXX, the number I found as the customer service number was XXXX which ended up being a scam and they said to refund the money I would have to buy XXXX XXXX cards. First, they said that I would simply need {$100.00} for international hackers, so I brought two XXXX play cards both worth {$20.00}. Then they ask that I buy 3 cards worth {$100.00}. While I read the pin on the back of the XXXX XXXX XXXX the representative on the other line would type the numbers/letters into a computer system. Next, they told me to buy one {$500.00} card for security measures of my account and to combat the last glitch for my refund. Then after I read the pin number on the back of the XXXX XXXX XXXX the phone was disconnected and I was no longer able to make any calls. I found my girlfriend and ask to use her phone and the representative explained that since the phone cut off the money would stay in the server. The phone number was XXXX and again he explained to me and my girlfriend that if one more {$500.00} XXXX XXXX XXXX, I would receive {$1400.00} back. Out of frustration, I proceed to buy the last card of {$500.00} using the money out of my savings and once I read the last pin for the XXXX XXXX I was transferred to the refund department where they asked me to provide my billing address. Then again the representative of the refund department ask that I would by another {$500.00} card to complete the refund. After this, I hung the phone and research the number to find out that it was not the customer service number for XXXX and it was already reported for fraudulent activity. At this point in time, I have lost {$1400.00} dollars due to this situation and the money came out of my savings. XXXX directed me to file a complaint to XXXX ; however, previous to this I did not have a XXXX account and it was not required to purchase the phone. On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX refunded me for the original {$400.00} that was lost, but Im still waiting to resolve the {$1400.00} lost through the XXXX XXXX XXXX. I contacted XXXX on the situation and I was told they have opened an investigation on the matter.
