CAPTI ADVANCE AUTOMATICALLY COMPOSES PERSONALIZED TARGETED EXERCISES FROM ANY TEXTS, ENABLING STUDENTS TO SIMULTANEOUSLY IMPROVE THEIR READING SKILLS AND BETTER UNDERSTAND THE CURRICULUM. THE GOAL OF THIS PROJECT IS TO FULLY DEVELOP CAPTI ADVANCE TO MEET THE MARKET DEMAND FOR AN ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY CAPABLE OF SIMULTANEOUSLY ACCOMMODATING AND ADVANCING READING. THE OBJECTIVES ARE TO: 1) DEVELOP AN INTUITIVE UI TO ENABLE TEACHERS ADMINISTER THE INTERVENTION AND STUDENTS TO TAKE IT; 2) EVALUATE THE USABILITY OF THE UI TO GATHER FEEDBACK THAT WILL INFORM SUBSEQUENT R&D; 3) DESIGN AND DEVELOP UI FOR STUDENT ENGAGEMENT THAT WOULD KEEP STUDENTS MOTIVATED LONG TERM; 4) DEVELOP EXERCISE PERSONALIZATION CAPABILITY TO TAILOR EXERCISES TO THE NEEDS OF SPECIFIC STUDENTS; 5) CONDUCT FEASIBILITY TESTING TO EVALUATE THE USER INTERFACE PRIOR TO THE LONGITUDINAL EFFICACY STUDY; 6) CONDUCT A RANDOMIZED CONTROLLED TRIAL (RCT) DETERMINE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE INTERVENTION; 7) REFINE CAPTI ADVANCE TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF THE INTERVENTION AND MEET USER REQUESTS.
