Complaint What Happened I was contacted at my work number by a man name XXXX XXXX, ( legal name XXXX XXXX XXXX ) working for Nationwide Debt Management. He started off the conversation by not announcing who he was or why he was calling, just that he was looking for a program coordinator and/or the highest person he could get to that worked for my agency. When I asked what it was regarding he said I need to get information about `` XXXX '' ( my maiden name ). At which point I said, well you are speaking to her what can I help you with. That's when the rant started about how I am XXXX and I owe him money and I need to pay up. That he was going to call the surgeons company I worked for and sue them, take me to court. Call my boss ( XXXX ), and get my information to provide to the court system to garnish my wages. Told me I had plenty of time to take care of this and now because I refuse to make a payment arrangement with him on the phone he is going to take me for everything I am worth and garnish everything. I asked him to stop threatening me and he stated : " I am not threatening you, I'm making you accountable for not paying for more than 2 years on a debt you own and if you don't I will take you to court and sue you for the money. '' At this point I told him I would take down his information and give him a call back when I was in a more private area and he stated : " I know you are not going to call me back because you don't answer your phone calls and you don't pay your bills so why would you call me back. '' I stated to him, well if he wasn't so rude maybe this conversation would go a lot longer, but at any rate give me the phone number. I sat in silence. He then stated ya know the least you could do is acknowledge when I talk to you because a normal human being would do so. I stated : please give me your phone number. He stated : Why, you're not going to call me back, you can't just take care of this now? I then asked for his supervisor. He stated : His name is XXXX XXXX with a XXXX degree. I said and what is your name? He said XXXX XXXX with a XXXX degree. I said that has nothing to do with anything may I speak to your supervisor. He again stated : I have a XXXX degree, that's right, a XXXX degree and you have nothing and you need to pay your debt. I said ya know what, put someone else on the phone because I'm done talking to you. He said I will give you to XXXX and she can set up a payment arrangement with you. I said fine and he transferred me to XXXX, whose customer service was better but unwilling to work with me to set up a payment plan. I asked XXXX to have a supervisor call me and she brushed me off. Then when I told her what I could afford and what I was wiling to do, she told me it was not good enough and that she was going to go after my husband. I said I'll do you one better, and put him on the phone. He and she worked out a payment plan and I still have not heard from any supervisor of XXXX XXXX XXXX.
