29 CFR 1926.651(i)(1): Where the stability of adjoining buildings, walls, or other structures was endangered by excavation operations, support systems such as shoring, bracing or underpinning was not provided to ensure the stability of such structures for the protection of employees. a) Foundation excavation at the back of the lot: A wall of an adjoining building collapsed on employees while they were working in the excavation. The foundation of the adjoining building was undermined by the excavation on site. There was no shoring, bracing, or underpinning provided to support and stabilize the foundation or wall of the adjoining building. On or about 09/03/15. |
