29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels, was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system: a) Flat Roof on Backside of Building (Yellow Siding) - On or about September 8, 2022, employees accessed a flat roof during ascent and descent for performing roofing work on the main roof of the building with approximately 8:12 pitched roof without any fall protection. The approximate height from flat roof (Yellow Siding) to the ground was approximately 26 feet in height. The employees did not have fall protection when working from this flat roof (Yellow Siding) and were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 26 feet. b) Flat Roof on Backside of Building (Brick Siding) - On or about September 8, 2022, employees accessed a flat roof during ascent and descent for performing roofing work on the main roof of the building with approximately 8:12 pitched roof without any fall protection. The approximate height from the flat roof (Brick Siding) to the ground was approximately 20 feet in height. The employees did not have fall protection when working from this flat roof (Brick Siding) and were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 20 feet. |
