I took out a personal loan from this site, and on XX/XX/31 I paid off the remaining amount, which per their site was, XXXX.
Three days later, it was still showing as pending, and I had to call customer service twice to try to push the payment through. They took a verbal confirmation and said it would go through today, XXXX.
It didnt go through. When I called they attempted to charge me XXXX. I told them that I would not pay additional interest due to their system errors and after a lengthy back and forth with a supervisor, they agreed to charge the original amount. I am concerned the payment still will fail to go through and they will report my payment as late. If theyre making it this hard to pay off the loan, I can only imagine what theyre doing to others.

This complaint concerns Payoff ( https : //www.payoff.com/about/contact/ ) For the past several months, I have been receiving invitations from Payoff, via email and postal mail, to apply for a loan to pay off some or all of my credit card debt. These invitations have been accompanied by a unique invitation code, which I am asked to enter on their website to begin the process of applying for such a loan. Repeatedly over the past several months, every time I have entered my invitation code, my application is blocked with an unspecified error, and I am directed to contact Payoff via its live customer support chat. Each time I am told the exact same thing : that there is a " technical problem '' with my account, and that their " engineering team '' will look at it and that I will hear back from Payoff within a few days. Each time, this has NOT happened. Nobody ever follows up with me, either by phone or by email, or via any other means. The same issue has continued when I have attempted to email Payoff ( repeatedly since XXXX ) : I am told there is a " technical problem, '' the " engineering team '' will look into it, and that I will hear back from them ( yet I never do ). The same has also happened when I contacted their phone support. I spoke to them twice by phone, only to be told in the end that it is a " technical problem '' that their " engineering team '' needs to look into and that they will contact me. Again, they never have. Perhaps I shouldn't, as this poor level of customer service is a red flag, but I would like the opportunity to at least apply for a Payoff loan, but have found absolutely no recourse so far in attempting to do so.

According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act 15 USC 1681 section 602 that states : " There is a need to insure that consumer reporting agencies exercise their grave responsibilities with fairness, impartiality, and a respect for the consumers right to privacy. '' XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX are consumer reporting agencies, I am the consumer and I have the right to make sure my private information isn't shared which is backed by 15 USC 6801 that states : " It is the policy of the Congress that each financial institution has an affirmative and continuing obligation to respect the privacy of its customers and to protect the security and confidentiality of those customers nonpublic personal information. '' XXXX XXXX, XXXX and Happy Money Inc is a financial institution by definition under that title. 15 USC 1681 in section 604 a section 2 states that " In general Subject to subsection ( c ), any consumer reporting agency may furnish a consumer report under the following circumstances and no other : in accordance with the written instructions of the consumer to whom it relates. '' Happy Money Inc, XXXXXXXX XXXX and XXXX and the Consumer reporting agencies XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX did not have my consent to furnish this information and they surely do not have my written consent. Any and all consent to XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX whether it be verbal, non-verbal, written, implied or otherwise is revoked. 15 USC 6802 ( b ) ( c ) clearly states " A financial institution may not disclose nonpublic personal information to a nonaffiliated third party unless the consumer is given an explanation of how the consumer can exercise that nondisclosure option. '' XXXX XXXX, XXXX and Happy Money Inc never informed me of my right to exercise my nondisclosure option. Also 15 USC 1681C ( a ) ( 5 ) states " Except as authorized under subsection ( b ), no consumer reporting agency may make any consumer report containing any of the following items of information Any other adverse item of information, other than records of convictions of crimes which antedates the report by more than seven years. '' This account is an adverse item they are reporting again without my permission which is against the law. 15 U.S. Code 1681s2 ( A ) ( 1 ) A also states " A person shall not furnish any information relating to a consumer to any consumer reporting agency if the person knows or has reasonable cause to believe that the information is inaccurate. And 15 U.S. Code 1681e states " Every consumer reporting agency shall maintain reasonable procedures designed to avoid violations of section 1681c of this title and to limit the furnishing of consumer reports to the purposes listed under section 1681b of this title. XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX are not maintaining reasonable procedures. 12 CFR 1016.7 states that " A consumer may exercise the right to opt out at any time. '' I am opting out of your reporting services. Subject : Unauthorized Credit Reporting and Demand for Resolution Reference to Federal and New York Laws Dear HAPPY MONEY, I am writing to address the blatant violation regarding the unauthorized reporting of information to my credit report, as confirmed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) under Sections 1681b ( a ) ( 2 ), 1681c ( a ) ( 2 ), and 1681s-2 ( a ), as well as New York 's Identity Theft Prevention and Mitigation laws , specifically under New York General Business Law Section 380-s.
It has unequivocally come to my attention that HAPPY MONEY has engaged in unauthorized reporting to my credit report without obtaining my explicit consent. Federal law, as outlined in the FCRA, explicitly mandates that the consent of the consumer is a non-negotiable requirement for such reporting activities under Section 1681b ( a ) ( 2 ).
In addition to federal law, New York law under Section 380-s prohibits the unauthorized use of personal identifying information, emphasizing the protection of consumers from identity theft and fraudulent credit reporting. This law ensures that credit reporting agencies are required to remove any information resulting from identity theft, and to prevent any continued reporting of such information without the consumer 's explicit consent.
I assert with unwavering certainty that I have not provided consent for HAPPY MONEY to report any information to my credit report. This undeniable lack of explicit permission constitutes a blatant violation of my rights, resulting in potential damage to my creditworthiness and an unequivocal disregard for both federal and New York state laws.
I demand, with the utmost certainty, that HAPPY MONEY immediately cease any further reporting of information to my credit report without obtaining my explicit consent, as mandated by Section 1681b ( a ) ( 2 ) of the FCRA and New York General Business Law Section 380-s. Failure to comply within the stipulated 30-day timeframe will be viewed as willful noncompliance, subject to penalties under applicable laws, including New York identity theft laws .
I emphasize that obtaining consent is not a discretionary choice but a legal obligation under these specific sections of the FCRA and New York state law. This is not a negotiation ; it is a demand for compliance with both federal and state regulations, protecting consumers like myself from unauthorized and damaging credit reporting.
I anticipate your immediate attention to this matter and expect that HAPPY MONEY will promptly rectify these egregious violations, respecting my rights under federal and state laws.

My name is XXXX XXXX, ID XXXX : XXXX. With Due respect I would like inform you that As per my loan application, The Company named Payoff approved my {$25000.00} loan on XX/XX/2021. On XX/XX/2021 I called and requested an pay off associate to schedule for receiving {$20000.00} from my Checking account. He scheduled it for XX/XX/2021, and fund was transferred successfully on time. Then on XX/XX/2021 I called and requested to settle my full loan amount immediately, means taking the balance amount from my checking amount ASAP. I had requested the Manager, If it is not possible for XX/XX/XXXX okay then please schedule/settle it for next day ie XX/XX/XXXX, So that I could save at least 1 day, s interest. But she refused to schedule it for XX/XX/XXXX, She schedule it for XX/XX/XXXX, and Charged XXXX from my checking account, of course with my authorization, I was bound to do so, as she refused to settle upto XX/XX/XXXX, My Question is it really company policy that I cant settle my Loan on same or next day, I have to wait 2 more days!
I doubt what manager did! I guess there is something wrong! Because there is a option on web to settle or payoff in full on next day! May be Im wrong, But I need to know based on which terms she did it to me, Under the above circumstances I got a reply from them, that is as below I apologize that we were unable to schedule the payment on the same or next business days, it's not something a manager can override as it is a system limitation would you please check is this system Limitation is legal? I just want to know that whatever the did using their system limitation is permitted by law.

Payoff.com, misrepresented how much I owed them in XX/XX/2019. When I refinanced my home, I sent them a check for the balance they quoted me also in XX/XX/2019. Turns out, they wanted {$66.00} more dollars. I tried to explain I paid the amount they said and they said well the quoted amount did not include interest.
I had been paying the loan off in monthly installments, automatically, for over a year. All the interest was built into the payments.
They began harassing me in XX/XX/XXXX calling my cell phone during work hours, texting, emailing, all for XXXX XXXX I use my cell phone for work, was very embarrassing.
I agreed to pay the full amount in XX/XX/2019. I asked XXXX XXXX of the collections department if they reported me to a credit bureau which they did. I was livid. Here was a company, I borrowed XXXX from, paid every month from my account automatically and they are trying to hurt my credit for {$66.00}.
I asked if they could write a letter to the credit bureau to indicate a mistake reporting my account delinquent and XXXX XXXX refused.
