29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652(c) A). On or about 1/04/2019, at wall adjacent to westbound lane, 112-51 Northern Blvd. Corona, NY Employees working in approximately 40 ft. deep a triangle shaped excavation with sides measuring approximately 310 ft. x 360 ft. x 480 ft. were in danger of a partial wall collapse due to insufficient support. Employer did not ensure that all tie backs installed on soil nail wall were consistent with the engineering plan. ABATEMENT VERIFICATION IS NOT REQUIRED PURSUANT TO 29 CFR 1903.19. |
