29 CFR 1910.132(a): Protective equipment was not used when necessary whenever hazards capable of causing injury and impairment were encountered: a). On or about 8/27/19, on site, for employees using wheel cleaner spray on an as needed basis for a couple of minutes to clean tire rims. The wheel cleaner contains chemicals such as, but not limited to, 1-5% Phosphoric Acid. Employees are not required to don PPE during cleaning operations. b). On or about 8/27/19, on site, for employees using Color Coat Aerosol spray to coat the car interior. Employees use spray every other day for 15 minutes. The Color Coat contains chemicals such as, but not limited to, acetone and toluene. The employer did not require PPE such as safety glasses and nitrile gloves to be use. |
