29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b): a) East Side Roof - Employees were installing shingles on an approximate 8-12 pitch roof approximately 21 feet above the ground without fall protection; on or about 10/17/2014. b) West Side Roof - An employee was installing shingles on an approximate 6-12 pitch roof approximately 12 feet above a lower level without fall protection; on or about 10/17/2014. Note: In addition to abatement certification the employer is required to submit abatement documentation for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19. Independent Contracting was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number773463, citation number1, item number1 and was affirmed as a final order on 04/24/2014, with respect to a workplace located at 251 Ocean Ave., Amityville, NY 11701. |
