The employee was exposed to 31 ppm of 2-butoxyethanol, 7.6 ppm of methyl alcohol, and 76 ppm of sec-butyl alcohol during the 132 minute sampling period on 4/26/23. A zero exposure was assumed for the 348 minutes not sampled. (31/50 + 7.6/200 + 76/150) = 1.17 In case of a mixture of air contaminants the equivalent exposure is calculated as follows: Em=(C1�L1+C2�L2)+. . .(Cn�Ln) Where: Em is the equivalent exposure for the mixture. C is the concentration of a particular contaminant. L is the exposure limit for that substance specified in Subpart Z of 29 CFR Part 1910. The value of Em shall not exceed unity (1).
