29 CFR 1910.23(c)(1): Open-sided floors and/or platforms four feet or more above adjacent floor or ground level were not guarded with standard railings (or equivalent) and toeboards: Note: Toeboards are only required when persons can pass, there is moving equipment or there is equipment with which falling materials could create a hazard: a) On or about 3/10/2014, Bag Line #1: An open sided platform on the bagging line was not provided with a guard rail system. Employees exposed to falls of seven and a half feet to the floor and machinery. b) On or about 3/10/2014, In the Gluten Free Room, Zone 4: The platform on the sifter station was not provided with a guardrail for a five foot portion of the platform. Employees exposed to falls of nine feet to the floor. Abatement documentation is required for this item.
