I wrote a {$10000.00} check to my daughter from my XXXX account on XX/XX/year>. When she tried to deposit the check in her Citizens account on XX/XX/year>, it was flagged as fraudulent. In a letter dated XX/XX/year> from Citizens to my daughter ( and account holder ), they state the funds are on hold until XX/XX/year> and they froze her account. On XX/XX/XXXX, she contacted Citizens and they claimed they wouldn't have more information until XX/XX/year>. Since the money already was withdrawn from account, this meant my {$10000.00} was in limbo for over 2 months. I called XXXX and the representative said there was no issue on their side and gave me a phone number for their fraud dept for Citizens to contact to obtain confirmation and documentation that the funds were there and the check was not fraudulent. My daughter and I contacted Citizens on MULTIPLE occasions together to confirm the authenticity of the check and to provide them with the XXXX phone number to gain confirmation. They were not receptive and continued to state that my daughter 's account would be frozen until XX/XX/year>. This is completely unacceptable as we tried every means to provide Citizens with objective evidence of the authenticity of this check and they rejected all our attempts AND kept the {$10000.00} in the meantime. My daughter 's account has also been frozen this entire time which is a hardship for her. I understand they are protecting people from fraud, but if we provided information and documentation to ensure this check was authentic, they should work with their customers to ensure better service. This {$10000.00} is going to pay down a car loan so now additional interest has been added to my daughter 's car loan.
